Define Englishness Film piece displayed on monitor, 15 min. This time instead of creating an environment that directly challenges the viewer. I display my research, which offers a chance to look at the journey I make. I document my interactions with people. As I force them to make judgements and form opinions of England. The scale of Englishness, is a measure of how connected the person feels to England, defined by their opinions of Englishness. By asking these questions I make the individual consider their position within society, and how they view current English society. The documentation as a whole does not define Englishness, but instead broadens what Englishness could be. It also provides an insight into how people feel currently about their country. With this set the same questions are posed to the viewer. They are invited to sit down and listen to the opinions of others within the film and consider their own position by marking their position on a scale chart. However do any of the comments make you reconsider your opinion? Exhibited: Beneath the Veneer Pt.2
